With Krzysiek and Napier Sub-Aqua we have visited Farne Island for a friendly chat with the locals...a colony of seals. It ptoved to be great fun for both parties, as seals treat nice divers as very welcome guests.

Nice hill for an easy (but long walk). Use the southern path is you want to avoid rocky and steep moments.

Even the shortest day of a year is long enough to enjoy some fantastic tourist attractions offered by Scottish Borders. A good idea for a day trip from Edinburgh may be a visit to Jedburgh Abbey, Smailholm Tower and Greenknowe Tower.

It is not a fairytale castle but a sort of castle that you would expect in a Robin Hood movie. Being just a short drive away from Edinburgh it is a perfect place for a day away from the City. (closed for winter)

We dived the Port Napier four times that weekend, and the stormy weather did not affect the dive at all. However, most of the ordinary tourist attractions were shut. So if you ever decide to visit the Island of Skye it is best done in the season.

On the day when G8 was taking place in Scotland, we were to the Crammond Area of Edinburgh for a small walk. When we came back to the city the streets looked totally deserted.
